Apex, North Carolina is located on the Southwestern side of Wake County; the town borders Cary, NC to South and South West, and it borders Holly Springs, North Carolina to the Northside. Downtown is a 25 minute drive to Raleigh, 10 minute drive to Cary, 20 minute drive to Research Triangle Park, 20 minute drive RDU International Airport, and a 25 minute drive Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

According to the 2010 Apex Development Report, the population is 35,342 residents; this is based on a September, 2010 update.The median family income is $78,689 and the per capita median income is $28,727. The median age in Apex, North Carolina is 31.2 years.

The town history began around 1867 and was incorporated in 1873; the town is called Apex because it was the highest point on the Chatham Railroad between Richmond, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida.

The historic downtown area a favorite among the the surrounding towns. The buildings are connected by walls and the streets are lined with sidewalks, blue and green awnings, restaurants, soda shoppes, and antique stores. Come visit during the Peak City Festival; you'll have a ball!!
